Nha Trang has a lot of bars but pretty much only two places where people go late.
As things stand the early evening competition is what makes or breaks bars here so expect unlimited bargains during happy hour, usually from 19:00 - 22:00.
Tourists dub it the ‘hole in the wall bar’ but Bar Oz is popular with Australian expats and international tourists. Despite its size, Bar Oz has reputation for being a friendly place with great atmosphere. You can watch all the Aussie games here. The owner Greg has just opened a guesthouse close to it. Bar Oz is open from breakfast (a hearty cooked breakfast and a big mug of coffee) until late at night.

This is the place where you go to watch games. The establishment claims to show all major sporting events including AFL, NRL, Euro 2012 and much more. It is a lively place with music and dance as its staple activities. The fast food menu includes a variety of American-styled burgers, pizza, sandwiches and some Vietnamese fried noodles, served from early morning until late at night. You can also join in the fun abroad its signature ‘party boat’ (kitted out with two bars on board), where you will meet the like-minded travelers.

This is a Russian/Euro themed bar and restaurant on three floors. The décor is made up of photographs of Soviet military scenes, flags, hats and coats. Staffed by Vietnamese and friendly Russians, Checkpoint is air conditioned, complete with disco bar, verandah and children’s corner It is frequented by international folks, is lively and stays open until after 03:00.

Living up to its moniker, Crazy Kim is a pretty wild place with an untamed clientele. In the heart of the backpacker area, Crazy Kim is particularly popular with the diving community so expect lots of underwater chat.
If you are interested in food, note that the cuisine here is Mexican and Vietnamese.
Tired from too much dancing? Then lie in one of the hammocks dotted about the bar area. Proceeds from this rather eccentric bar ostensibly go to protecting local children from sexual predators.

Centrally located, Guava has a good reputation as being young and chic with occasional good live acts and comfortable armchairs, from which to enjoy tasty cocktails and listening to rich bassy lounge music. It has a large lounge area with a TV showing sporting events, pool and darts. A mixed collection of music caters for all tastes and ages. Guava is open until 01:00.

South of town (across from the Evason Ana Mandara), Jack's is run by friendly Jack himself. It is a lively place with pub grub and an amusing clientele. Nha Trang’s only English pub, Jack’s has two bars, pool tables and caters for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu includes Western and Vietnamese dishes.

The Irish Pub The Jolly Leprechaun is part of Sunrise Nha Trang Beach Hotel & Spa, and is situated on the ground floor of its annex building on Tran Phu Street. The pub has a wide selection of beers including draught Guinness and Amber. A Filipino Band performs here every Friday and Saturday.

Oasis has a pleasant roof-top terrace setting. There is nightly live music with DJ and on occasion transvestite shows. Swinging loud music starts late at night. The place is a favourite spot with young international travellers.

Rainbow Bar is part of the dive centre Rainbow Divers. It serves local beers, cocktails and imported ales and wines. The food is pub style comprising the likes of hearty breakfast with baked beans and bangers, meat pies with chips, beef burgers and pizzas. The bar is large and there is an al-fresco area as well.

A small pub popular with the backpacker crowd, The Red Apple has nice music and the decor is largely graffiti on the walls. There are TV screens around the place and also a pool table. Happy hour goes on all night long and includes two for one Fosters. Ladies night is on Mondays.

By the time midnight has arrived, if you’re not already there, better head over to the Sailing Club. This is the late-night gathering spot for nearly everyone who is still up in Nha Trang. Located right on the beach, the Sailing Club has large seating areas both inside and out, and at night, a dance floor that gets crowded. The Sailing Club organizes a full-moon party once a month called Insomnia.

For a change from the dance music pumping out of many of the bars here try The Shamrock Bar, an Irish-themed pub run by two Scots. Inside are imported beers and cider such as Strongbow, and a cosy pub-like atmosphere. Shamrock Bar also organizes rafting trips on the Cai River.

Almost all of Nha Trang's bars are obliged by law to close at midnight but Why Not (open until 04:00) is one of the few that have slipped through the net and not many of its late-night patrons are arguing against this. Why Not Bar has an open terrace with tables out front. A large dance floor inside accommodates shakers, but the bar becomes truly alive after 02:00 when the Sailing Club closes.

Part of the hotel by the same name, Yasaka Beach & Bar occupies the prime beachfront spot, from which it serves cocktails and aperitif-like drinks. Follow this by seafood barbecue served from small boat-shape stations dotted around the terrace. Move indoors later on to join the dance-all-night crowd. Here, loud and lively music goes on until late.
